Hedemora turbochargers
We are an Authorized Service Partner of Hedemora Turbo & Diesel. The Swedish HS range for medium-speed power and traction engines: 1.000 to 4.200 kW per unit, plain bearings and up to 24.000 h between overhauls according to the manufacturer.
Engine engineering applied to the turbo
Hedemora Turbo & Diesel built large-bore diesel engines for more than five decades before focusing on turbochargers. That heritage explains their approach: the HS range is designed and matched against the engine's requirements rather than the other way round — which is exactly what a retrofit needs.
- HS-range overhaul, balancing and spare parts
- Matching assessment against the engine's compressor map
- Installation kits for retrofit onto other brands' engines
- On-site fitting and commissioning
Models and power ranges
Manufacturer-published range data, per turbocharger unit.
Common range characteristics: pressure ratio up to 4.5, plain bearings, air cooling (with oil) and up to 24.000 h of operation between overhauls according to the manufacturer.
Models with catalogued spare parts
This includes the Hispano Suiza heritage units (HS400, HS500, HS509), whose turbocharger line passed to Hedemora — another case where independent support makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions
Is there still support for Hedemora units in service?
Yes: overhaul, documented replacements and parts supply for the models and power ranges we list. These are engines where the turbocharger was engineered with the engine, so keeping the unit correct matters more than swapping it for whatever fits.
What do you need to identify the right unit or part?
The turbocharger nameplate — make, model and serial number — plus the engine nameplate, and the part reference or a photo if you have it. A photo of both plates is usually enough for our technical team to confirm the exact reference.
Question not here? Our FAQ has 27 more — how they work, maintenance, cleaning in service, spare parts and operation — plus a plain-language glossary. And if what you have is a symptom, the troubleshooting guide goes from symptom to likely cause.
