MTU turbochargers
Service and spare parts for the ZR series and older MTU frames — high-speed engines in ferries, patrol and fast craft, rail traction and gensets.
Small frames, demanding balancing
MTU units run faster than the large marine frames, which makes rotor balancing and clearance control the critical part of the job rather than an afterthought. Our Lahore station holds a precision balancer for exactly this size class, and Madrid covers the rest of the work.
- Complete overhaul of ZR-series units
- Precision rotor balancing
- Radial and axial clearance measurement, compressor and turbine side
- Bearing, seal and wear-part replacement
- Spare parts for current and discontinued frames

Frequently asked questions
Why is balancing so critical on these smaller frames?
Because a small rotor turns faster, and the centrifugal force of an unbalance grows with the square of speed: a residual unbalance that would be irrelevant on a large frame becomes bearing load here. That is why these rotors are balanced on a machine, with material removed at the defined correction planes — never by adding mass.
Can several units be overhauled as a batch?
Yes, and on engines with many turbochargers it is the sensible way: the batch goes through the workshop with a single documented standard and comes back as a set, which keeps the whole engine on the same maintenance clock.
