Turbocharger repair

Failure identified, root cause diagnosed, turbo back in service. 24/7, multi-brand, worldwide.

HOW WE WORK

From diagnosis to delivery

  • Root-cause diagnosis: we don't just fix, we prevent repeats
  • On-site repair when removal isn't viable
  • Workshop overhauls measured against manufacturer tolerances
  • Shaft, blade, nozzle-ring and casing repair
  • Final test and balancing before delivery

SCOPE

What we repair

Components

  • Rotor assemblies and shafts, recovered by metal spraying and machining
  • Compressor and turbine wheels and blades
  • Nozzle rings and diffusers
  • Plain and anti-friction bearings
  • Casings: welding, machining and wall-thickness checks
  • Heat exchangers and charge air coolers

Failure modes we deal with

  • Surging and unstable operation
  • Bearing damage from lubrication or oil contamination
  • Foreign object damage (FOD) on blades
  • Fouling, erosion and corrosion of gas- and air-side parts
  • Rotor vibration and imbalance
  • Leaks and loss of turbocharger performance

Shaft recovery by metal spraying

Worn shaft journals are built back up by metal spraying, then machined and ground back to the manufacturer's tolerances, recovering the original component instead of replacing it. Every recovered rotor is dynamically balanced and measured before delivery.

PROCESS

Every repair, the same standard

01Reception & inspectionDisassembly, cleaning and a documented condition assessment of every component.
02Root-cause diagnosisWe identify why it failed (lubrication, operation, fouling or wear) to prevent repeats.
03Repair / overhaulComponent replacement or recovery, measured against manufacturer tolerances.
04Balancing & final testDynamic rotor balancing (100 g to 2.000 kg) and testing before delivery.
05Service reportEvery job ships with its report: measurements, work performed and warranty.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How fast can you respond?

The emergency line runs 24/7. With 11 own stations and 23 partner points on 4 continents, we mobilise the team closest to your vessel or plant. Standard jobs have pre-agreed rates, so the quotation is immediate, and, when downtime is critical, you can purchase an exchange unit for immediate availability.

On-site or workshop repair?

It depends on the damage and on access. On-site work covers inspections, cartridge changes and minor repairs without removing the unit; full overhauls, balancing and casing repairs are done in the workshop.

Which brands and models do you cover?

We are independent and multi-brand: ABB / Accelleron, MAN, KBB (authorised technical service), Napier, Mitsubishi MET, MTU, PBS, Garrett and more, from auxiliary-engine turbos to large axial propulsion units.

What documentation do I get?

Every repair is delivered with a service report: as-found condition, measurements against tolerances, work performed and parts fitted, with 12 months' warranty on the work.

Why do you look for the root cause, not just the damage?

Because the failure almost never starts in the turbocharger: a foreign object, contaminated oil or exceeded intervals will break the repaired machine just the same. Finding the cause is the difference between repairing and repeating the failure.
