What we do with a MET, in the workshop and on board
- Complete overhauls from MET18 to MET83, SR through SE generations
- On-board inspections in port, scheduled around the vessel's call
- Cleaning, clearance checks and bearing condition assessment
- Component recovery and rotor balancing
- More than 1.400 MET references catalogued
MET units power main and auxiliary engines across much of the merchant fleet, with maintenance plans driven by running hours and by the vessel's port calls. We work within that double constraint: prepare the job before arrival and close it inside the available window.
For operators with mixed fleets, handling MET, ABB and MAN through a single point of contact and one reporting format simplifies the technical follow-up of each vessel.

Frequently asked questions
On board or in the workshop: which is better for a MET?
It depends on what the inspection finds and on the time available. Cleaning, clearance measurement and many bearing jobs are done on board within the port call. A full overhaul with rotor balancing needs the workshop — and that is when an exchange cartridge turns days of downtime into hours.
What documentation does the vessel get after the job?
A service report with as-found condition, measurements against tolerances, work performed, parts fitted and the final test — ready for the superintendent and for class. IMO parts can be delivered, on request, verified by LR or DNV GL.
