Balancing

Our balancing machines allow us to work with rotors ranging from 100 g to 2000 kg. All new, reconditioned, or assembled rotors in turbochargers undergo balancing control and are adjusted according to the manufacturer’s specifications. In addition, the balancing machines are calibrated and certified annually in compliance with ISO standards.

Hardness test

We perform hardness tests with certified equipment according to OEM specifications to diagnose, prevent failures, and assess the condition of compressor wheels.

Turbine shaft repair

In certain cases, depending on the extent of the damage, turbine shafts can be rebuilt to their original condition in the journal, sealing, and pump coupling areas.

Ultrasonic thickness measurement

We perform thickness measurements using certified equipment to assess the wall thickness of gas inlet and outlet casings, in order to detect weak areas that could cause cracks or water leaks during operation.

Welding repairs

Our welding department is qualified to carry out various types of standard and special welding, suitable for specific materials and components.
  1. The Importance of Preventive Maintenance
Turbocharger maintenance is essential to ensure the efficiency, safety, and durability of marine, rail, or industrial engines. A turbocharger in good condition improves performance, reduces fuel consumption, and prevents costly unplanned downtime. In addition, carrying out periodic maintenance helps detect wear or misalignment before they turn into serious failures.

  2. Professional Turbocharger Repair
When a turbocharger shows signs of malfunction, specialized repair is crucial to restore its original performance. During this process, all critical components—bearings, seals, rotors, housings, and nozzles—are disassembled, cleaned, and inspected. Damaged parts are then replaced with original or certified equivalent spare parts, ensuring full compliance with the manufacturer’s specifications.

  3. Balancing and Precision Control
A key step in turbocharger repair is the dynamic balancing of the rotor. This procedure guarantees smooth operation with minimal vibration, extending the service life of the equipment. Furthermore, balancing machines calibrated according to ISO standards ensure maximum accuracy and reliability in every test.

  4. Diagnostics and Performance Testing
Before delivery, each turbocharger undergoes rigorous performance and leak tests to verify compliance with OEM parameters. Hardness testing and dimensional checks are also carried out to confirm the integrity of the components. Thanks to these tests, safe and efficient operation is guaranteed from the very first moment.

  5. Reconditioning and Upgrading
Turbocharger reconditioning makes it possible to recover old or out-of-service units, extending their lifespan and reducing operating costs. In some cases, technical improvements or upgrades are implemented to optimize engine performance and minimize environmental impact.

  6. Trust the Experts in the Marine and Industrial Sector
At Turbo Internacional, we are specialists in the maintenance and repair of turbochargers for ships, trains, and cogeneration plants. Our highly qualified technical team works with precision, commitment, and cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest performance of every unit. Because when it comes to turbochargers, quality is not an option—it’s a guarantee.
